There have been moments in my life where I prayed for something with everything I had.
I believed it was right.
I believed I was ready.
I couldn’t understand why the door wouldn’t open.
At the time, it felt like silence.
Now I wonder if it was protection.
Whether you call it God, Source, the Universe, or Divine Intelligence, I believe there is something greater than us that sees the entire picture while we only see the next few steps.
We spend so much time trying to control the outcome because we’re convinced we know exactly what we need. We map out our lives, set goals, create vision boards, and ask for very specific things.
But what if we’re asking too small?
What if the relationship we can’t stop chasing is standing in the way of the love that will truly honor us?
What if the job we desperately wanted would have kept us from discovering the work we were actually meant to do?
What if the life we’re trying so hard to hold onto is preventing us from stepping into the one we’re here to live?
I’ve learned that not every unanswered prayer is rejection.
Sometimes it’s redirection.
Sometimes life has to remove something we can’t imagine living without so it can make room for something we never imagined was possible.
That doesn’t make the waiting easy.
Faith isn’t pretending that disappointment doesn’t hurt.
Faith is believing that even when nothing makes sense, something meaningful is still unfolding behind the scenes.
Looking back at my own life, there are so many things I begged for that I’m grateful never happened. At the time, I couldn’t see it. Today, I can trace the dots and realize that every closed door redirected me toward something that aligned with who I was becoming.
Our dreams are beautiful.
But maybe they’re only a glimpse of what’s possible.
Maybe the Universe isn’t trying to withhold blessings from us.
Maybe it’s protecting us from settling for less than what we’re capable of receiving.
So keep dreaming.
Keep asking.
Keep taking action.
But leave room for surprise.
Because sometimes the greatest manifestations don’t arrive in the package we requested.
They arrive in a form we never would have thought to ask for.
And one day, you’ll look back and realize the Universe wasn’t ignoring your prayers.
It was answering them in a way only infinite wisdom could.
